With Gorilla Glass 4, Your phone can survive drops 80% of the time

Corning has unveiled Gorilla Glass 4.This version is focused on improving protection against contact damage. Corning claims that gorilla glass 4 is 2 times better in damage resistance over competitive products and can survive 80% of drops from 1 meter (3.3 feet) on rough surface such as sand paper.

Phone makers won't need to worry, It is as thick as Gorilla glass 3(0.4 mm).The company found that dropping a dummy device onto 180-grit sandpaper  was the best comparative of rough road and side walk that most people drop their phone on - and then continue to use a drop-test machine to drop the dummy device from 1m(3.3ft) again and again. After every test, They investigate the results and develop a new better version of Gorilla Glass, until ultimately they reached Gorilla Glass 4.

Soon we see the Gorilla Glass 4 making it's way to our phones and Tablets.Corning says test samples and shipments are already underway.
